Certainly we want to be modest, and these people are trying to get us to buy from them, what's stopping us?

Usually it's the price.  We shop at thrift stores, where you can often find some modest clothes.  If they had better sales or generally better prices (not as cheap as thrift stores, certainly, but more like $5-$20), then I might buy from them. But I don't have much money to spend, so I have to be careful with what I do have.

My mom and I used to buy some clothes online (Blair.com, Chadwicks, etc.) when things were cheap enough, but it has been a long time. I guess another reason besides price is that we (for now) have enough clothes. :)

I didn't think it was possible for a woman to ever have enough clothing– thanks for enlightening me!

Sometimes the sites and the photos just aren't good quality and it's hard to trust them…

For me it's a combination of factors. Free shipping and returns would definitely be a place to start. I don't want to order something only to find that it doesn't work and have to pay to return it. I end up losing money and have nothing to show for it. So, I usually only buy from places whose clothes I've tried before. Next, I'm never sure about the quality on online-only retailers. Maybe my standards are higher than most but I've received a couple of dresses from an online retailer that definitely we not worth the money.
