How to dress modestly when traveling???

Okay so if you have read my previous posting "i'm new to this.. trying to change" you know a bit about me. I am now trying to dress modest and feminine after being brought up to dress immodestly for 19 years of my life. You also know that I have been dating a guy that started me on this path of respect. He taught me about dressing modestly and how important it is. With his encouragement I know am dressing modestly and have a pretty good selection of modest clothes.

Here is what I need advice on… I am going to see him in a few weeks (unfortunately we live on different sides of the country so we have to fly back and forth to see each other). I love skirts and dresses, but I'm wondering if it's best to travel in a modest pair of jeans or pants. Is it difficult to go through airports in a skirt? I'm sure many of you women have experience with doing a lot of traveling (and being dressed modest).

Please help! I appreciate any advice!

Thank you,  Lauren

Hi Lauren! I was checking up on topics in the forum, haven't been on here in ages. I saw that you hadn't gotten an answer from anyone yet! So I will try to help. :) I've traveled LOTS and always worn skirts, I don't think I've ever had a problem with it at all! I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, it should be fine! Just make sure its not to narrow so that you can still walk comfortably. :)

Love,

arielle

My opinion (take it for what it's worth being a male) would be that whatever you wear you want to be comfortable.  Whether it's walking the plane aisles, walking between gates, or sitting you want something that's going to be convenient, not something you have to think/worry about.

If you go for a skirt/dress, go for something that's long enough so you don't have to worry about who's looking and you can get some comfortable material.

I also don't think it's wrong to go the pants route here– my wife has done that more often than not.

Definitely wear whatever you're comfortable in.

Yes, something comfortable. But also I think long skirts are better, and/or a somewhat heavier material, so they don't poof out in the air machines (if they have any of those kind anymore).  I have also heard that women wearing skirts these days may be more likely to be chosen for a search, sadly, but I think I'd still wear a skirt, maybe with pants underneath.

Perhaps pants underneath just to be safe.
