This is beautiful top. I really like the crochet lace and ruffle detail on the front. It makes the top more feminine without being immodest.

The yellow bow around the waist is a nice touch, though some may not prefer to have their waist cinched up. I think it would look great even without the belt, which would also be more comfortable.

Priced at $32.25, it’s more than I would pay for a top, but it is very pretty and would make a nice option for attending a summer wedding, paired with a nice skirt and heels.

The sleeves are pretty short, it’s almost sleeveless. Normally I prefer to have longer sleeves, but I think I would be fine wearing this.

The neckline looks like it might be a little low, but that could easily be remedied with a higher white cami or tank under it – the fabric looks like it is sheer enough that you would need to wear something under it anyway.

Here is a cute top that is dressy and looks comfortable too. The waist is fitted, so that might be an issue for some, but I think overall it is modest.

When the sleeves are big like this, I like to wear a tank or cami underneath of the same color so nothing shows when I raise my arms.

The necklace is cute and eye catching, but I try to avoid necklaces that are too long because they draw eyes away from my face.

I really like the sleeves because they are pretty long, yet they are loose enough that it wouldn’t be too warm on a hot day.

This top can be dressed up or down. With a pair of jeans or a casual skirt, it would be comfortable for every day. With black pants or skirt like in the picture, it’s dressy enough for a more formal occasion.

This is a cute casual outfit, great for every day, but the heels help dress it up a little and keep it from looking too casual.

The purple top is high cut and not too tight, which is a good thing.  It might be better if she didn’t tuck the it in the front only, as it draws attention to the legs more.

Her jeans look pretty tight, and since they are skinny jeans, they are form fitting. These types of jeans aren’t always modest on all body types, so be aware of that. If she wore a longer top, this outfit would be more modest, but it would still be stylish and comfortable.

The first thing that I notice here is that this young lady is incredibly thin.  But putting that aside for the moment, the look of her top is quite cute.  I like the long shirt hanging out and the sweater over top—it’s a nice look for a girl.

My biggest problem is with her pants.  While they cover her legs, they seem to stick to her legs—or maybe not?  It’s hard to tell because of how thin she is.

Thinness really isn’t an issue as long as you’re healthy and have healthy habits.  Unfortunately our culture glorifies people with poor eating habits and perpetuates a standard that not everyone can beat.

Again, focus on the inside and let it shine through.

There’s not much one can say about what this young lady is wearing.  From what we see, the sleeve length is fine, the neckline is fine, and it is not clingy.  The fur lends an interesting touch to an otherwise neutral outfit.

So what’s left?  The pose.

Do you think that this is a modest pose?  Personally, it does have a little of a “look at me” pose to it, and yet it doesn’t look that unnatural.

To me, this picture serves as a reminder.  Though it may not be immodest, and the clothing choice is modest the pose might not be.  This is why it’s so important that our modest starts from within and oozes out!

Here’s another outfit I’d expect to see around a professional office.  A pencil type skirt and an open shirt.

Like the Office Outfit we reviewed before, this skirt sits on this young lady’s waist and travels down to just above her knee.  It looks a little longer than the other only because skirts and pants tend to ride higher when you’re sitting.  This means that there are maintenance issues to be considered.

The shirt doesn’t look too tight, showing your feminine features is not something that we think makes you immodest.  If the shirt were a little shorter, I think you’ve be in the immodest zone.

The pose is interesting here, it’s very feminine with the ankles crossed and looking away.

Does this work for modest apparel?

Here’s an interesting looking outfit.  I’ve always wondered about where a skirt or pants should rest.  As a guy, I wear my pants on my hips, but as a lady, I know that some wear their skirts on their waistline—and I can see why.

This young lady is wearing her skirt at her waist, and it falls right above the knee—which is fine as far as length.  It’s hard to tell if there’s enough material there because of the pose—she’s intentionally making the skirt tighter by advancing her right leg.

The shirt is a tad tight, but it also has a lot of material in the arms, so I’m thinking that it’s not exactly a tight shirt—though attention is drawn to the bust.  The sleeve length is fine.

Should she be wearing stockings?  I never know.

I could see this outfit in a professional setting, and really find nothing that strikes me as overtly immodest—do you?

Here’s another cute maternity photo that I think works well.  With the placement of her hands, you can tell the focus of the photo is the “bun in the oven” and nothing else.  This mother-to-be is beaming with joy, and we can tell she’s excited.

21 Weeks is also a good time to take a photo—a bump is visible, you’re not to the point where you’re wondering if the baby will ever come (that happens in the mid 30s).

You know what I’ve always wanted to do, and if we have another I might try it.  Take photos of every week you know, that way you can get a whole timeline thing going.  That’d be cool.

Or is that only a cool idea because I’m a guy?

What has happened to appropriate maternity photos?  Jessica Simpson made the news recently by going on the front of a major magazine showing off her curves wearing her birthday suit, and many photos online show women wearing nothing—at least on top.

This photo shows that a touching and powerful reminder of a pregnancy doesn’t have to bare it all.  This photo is beautiful, contemplative, and allows you to think along with the mom about the baby growing inside her that she will eventually see.

Ladies, when you go to have maternity photos taken, remember to keep modesty in mind.  I think that you’ll find that they are just as powerful.

One of the interesting things about maternity wear is that it’s possible to find maternity clothing that actually celebrates pregnancy, rather than trying to hide it.  Sometimes this can go over the top, with clothing that hugs to curves that are developing—not just the baby bump!—and some that even try to show off the belly.

That’s why I like and find appropriate this outfit—it’s a pretty shade that has wide straps so it doesn’t show off too much of the arms, it’s not low cut, and thought it lines right under the bust, it’s because the lower part gathers.  Plenty of material so it’s not clingy.  White pants could be an issue (man are they hard to keep clean!), but not here.

We’ve been reviewing a lot of casual looks recently, and this is only a shade different.

Jeans are appropriate, in my book, in certain situations—like work on a farm.  I could mention that her jeans have holes in them, but I’m not sure that it’s intentional, and I have holes in a couple of pairs of mine that I still wear.

The top shows a little more skin than I would suggest, showing off the top of the shoulder that gives her a feminine look.  The shirt, however, it great in that it covers below the midsection.

What do you think of a belt over the shirt?  In this case I think it works.

Here’s an interesting outfit that draws attention while still being modest.

The stockings are what catch my eye here—especially because they match the watering can, but more so because of their color as contrasted with the black dress.

It’s a great match, and the heels go along well, though I’d suggest for the good of your feet that you want to wear heels with care.

The dress is a tad short of where we like to see it, but otherwise everything’s great!

There’s a lot positive going for this outfit.  It’s sophisticated in its look—the lace is intricate.  The sweater ads a nice touch—which might be helping to make it modest because it could be strapless or spaghetti straps, but we don’t know.

The shoes show a lot of the feet, and the skirt is shorter than what we’d normally recommend—but it’s helped by the fact that the lace portion looks like it touches the knee.  Maintenance issue, probably.  Problem? It’s close.

This dress would be a touch of class for a night out, and it would also work for a dressier working environment, but it won’t be modest for all body types, and its length wouldn’t work for everyone.

Here’s a nice look that befits an autumn day. 

Just about any outfit can be spiced up with the addition of contrasting colors—in this case, the sweater helps make the look because of its contrast.

The neckline could be considered a tad low, but it’s offset by the outer layer with the floral pattern.

The necklace hangs at an appropriate height, drawing the eye, but not taking it where it should not go.

This outfit works for me, though it might not be appropriate on all body types.  It says “sophisticated” and not “cheap.”

Another casual look that is fine depending on what you’re doing.  This woman’s jeans cover heels, which are not too high.  She’s wearing a tasteful shirt—though I do wonder if it’s a bit clingy on top as I can make out some pattern underneath.

The jeans look fine, the bag looks like it could get heavy, but then women typically have a lot in their purses, don’t they?

Over all, a clean simple look that’s not frumpy but practical.

This outfit makes me warm just looking at it—though that could be because we haven’t had as much snow this year.

Most of the complaints I hear about wearing skirts in the northern climates during the winter is that it is cold—and I can only imagine.

However, this look is both modest and warm—there are multiple layers that help, and having your hair down makes you not only look lovely, but it helps keep your head and neck warm.

Gloves are a nice final touch.

This look is sophisticated and modest.  It speaks well of the wearer, and I believe that you could easily find this look, throw on some warm leggings underneath the skirt, and look good inside and out.

Here’s another outfit that looks comfortable, and is fine as far as modesty is concerned in most situations. 

The top is nice and feminine with a translucent look of lace on the arms, plenty of fabric and it has good coverage.  The necklace is pretty, and I assume that it goes well with her eyes.

The belt and the boots match—something I didn’t know I was supposed to do and the jeans tucked in works for this look.

The jeans are not too tight (you can see some of the material has room to move) and there’s no fading or holes in it.

I have no problems with this look, and think that it’s comfortable and appropriate.  Though I know that some believe you must always wear a skirt if you’re a woman, I have no problem identifying this person as a member of the fairer sex and I don’t have a problem with modesty here.

This is a very common look, and from a modesty standpoint it has a lot of things going for it.

This outfit says comfortable.  It’s something that you see fits the person and it looks relaxed.  It fits in place with the environment around it.

The shirt she is wearing is long, and the shirt or jacket over top does a good job of looking neat as well as being modest.

The jeans aren’t terribly tight, but it’s hard to get jeans that fit that don’t appear to show features on guys or girls without swimming in them.  It’s perfectly acceptable to be in jeans on the farm or in the country—even Bob Jones University allowed female students to wear jeans when hiking or riding horseback on an outing!

I like this look, and I think that it works!
