Is This Modest?

justagirl4god: The shirt in this outfit is a little low for me. I think a tank top or camisole underneath could fix that easily. I don’t have any problems with the rest of the outfit, though. Overall, borderline.

MInTheGap: This shirt goes too low for me. I’d suggest something higher– it’d also contrast better with the jacket!

justagirl4god: I think this is a great example of using layers to make a shirt modest. It’s not too tight, but she won’t have problems bending over, and the necklace doesn’t draw attention to her chest. The only issue I have is with the big letters on the front of the shirt. This sort of thing can draw unwanted attention. Overall, mostly modest.

MInTheGap: Definitely a good use of layers. Without the white layer, this shirt would be way too short. The fact that it’s white and there are white letters helps. Since there’s a distribution of the letters across the shirt, I’m not drawn to any particular place. Nice work.

justagirl4god: This is pretty cute. I think that perhaps the shirt is a bit low at the top, though, and the jeans a little tight around her thighs. It appears that she might have another layer underneath that top, and if this had a higher neckline it could solve that issue. Overall, mostly modest.

MInTheGap: This shirt shows some shoulders, which helps to give the outfit a feminine feel. I think the neckline could be a little higher, but it’s too much of a problem. Terrific photograph.

justagirl4god: This shirt is nice, has a good neckline and seems pretty long. The only issue with white is that you have a problem if it gets wet… The skirt is cute, and would be modest if it was a little longer. Overall, mostly modest.

MInTheGap: Just make sure you have an umbrella handy and a good forecast, so you aren’t afraid of white! This is a nice, clean look and it’s modest for me!

justagirl4god: This is a pretty cute outfit. I like the lacy part of the shirt which raises the neckline, though I think it could be a little higher. The shirt is not too tight, though, and the jeans don’t seem to be either. The bow/ribbon on the front of the shirt draws attention to this area, though, and I would prefer to avoid this type of thing. Overall, mostly modest.

MInTheGap: I like the bright colors, personally. The jeans are fine, and the heels are okay. The pink color that comes down in front is a little distracting in that it has contrast right across the bust line. As for skin showing, it’s not bad, and it’s a pretty outfit.

justagirl4god: I know this has been discussed before, but why is it that many women feel that it is okay to show lots of pregnant belly in everyday situations? I realize that it is a special time, but really… Bare bellies should be confined to the photography studio!

MInTheGap: Pregnancy– it’s a beautiful time, with a new life growing inside his mother’s womb. The mom’s body is going through all kinds of changes, and it’s neat to see! It’s really awkward to display these pictures however. We’re conditioned to think that this display is other than “natural” so the pregnant belly and seeing what amounts to a bra on this woman is not bad for her and her husband, but I would think twice before hanging it on my living room wall or sending it out in birth announcements. Keep it personal and remember the time.

justagirl4god: These outfits are all modest, though I think that a few of the tops may be a little bit tight across the bust. The shirts cover anything, and seem to be pretty long and look like they wouldn’t rise up too much. The skirts are nice and long too. These outfits are probably pretty practical too. Overall, modest.

MInTheGap: Not sure what the occasion is, but these are great outfits! I too would question whether some of them are too tight such as to leave too little to the imagination, but overall I don’t have much to say here.

justagirl4god: I like this outfit, but I think that the shirt comes down a little low. The jeans don’t appear to be too tight, and neither does her shirt. The scarf adds a nice touch, and if is was worn a little higher it might solve the issue of the exposed chest. Overall, I’d say borderline.

MInTheGap: For me, the only problem that I see here is the shirt– the top goes pretty low, and though part of it’s covered by her hair in this pose, I can see a lot of skin. Nothing that adding another layer couldn’t cure, however.

MInTheGap: This is a really good top. Nice pattern, though the work in the center can draw your attention to that area. Not bad at all.

justagirl4god: I’m not sure about this one. It looks fairly modest, though I think that possibly a bit too much neck/shoulders is exposed. She may have a problem if she bent over to pick something up, but perhaps the halter-top underneath is there to solve this. I think I’ll say mostly modest.

MInTheGap: Personally, the big question here is the amount of skin she’s showing and that I can see the white straps. The line of the straps can be followed, and they draw attention, and the shirt comes to the edge of the shoulders– it looks like it could fall down. This outfit plays withe guy’s mind a bit, and I would stay away from it outside the home.
