This is a very common look, and from a modesty standpoint it has a lot of things going for it.

This outfit says comfortable.  It’s something that you see fits the person and it looks relaxed.  It fits in place with the environment around it.

The shirt she is wearing is long, and the shirt or jacket over top does a good job of looking neat as well as being modest.

The jeans aren’t terribly tight, but it’s hard to get jeans that fit that don’t appear to show features on guys or girls without swimming in them.  It’s perfectly acceptable to be in jeans on the farm or in the country—even Bob Jones University allowed female students to wear jeans when hiking or riding horseback on an outing!

I like this look, and I think that it works!

One modern style that is great for modesty is pictured at right.  The sweater over the shirt that is left not tucked in is a great look for two reasons:

• The sweater is nice and bulky with a dress shirt underneath and it also allows for good contrast.
• The shirt tails hanging out cover the bottom and the front, and also provide contrast.

We’re not able to see the skirt length, but assuming that it’s a decent length, this outfit works for a casual setting, a date, or even in most business-casual workplaces.

The only thing I would caution here is the material of the skirt.  It looks from this picture like it might be tight.  Straight skirts can be tight, and so you may want to consider something with a bit more mobility or something that doesn’t hug your form too much.

It’s hard to tell a lot about this outfit due to it being black and white.  What I like about it is the long jacket.  Although it seems mid sleeve, there’s plenty of cover and the black turtleneck is a good look.

It does appear that the material of the outer layer is shiny metallic, which can be form fitting, but is fine in this scenario.

The pose is interesting while not being that provocative—it wouldn’t be a problem for me and it draws the eye into the photo.

So, I don’t have a problem considering this appropriate and modest.

This poncho looks comfortable, all the way around.

The length is nice, and it covers everything.  It comes down past the knees at the point, which is great.  The length on the arms is good.  The neck provides a lot of warmth!

This would be a great item to wear in the autumn—as long as it’s not too long that you’d find yourself caught or sitting on it.

Do any of you own a poncho?  Do you like it?

This tie-back cardigan looks comfortable, and is a nice color (though it comes in four different colors. 

Some things I noticed:

• Button downs can be tricky, but the spacing here is small—meaning less gaping.
• Button down also allows for being more immodest in private—a plus for us husbands out here.
• The shirt seems to get longer in the back.
• That means that you might sit on it when you sit down.
• You shouldn’t have anything exposed when you bend over.

All in all, a great cardigan.  What did you notice?

Ignore the top, for the moment, because it is definitely immodest—I mean, sure, you could fix it with an under layer, but I’m not even sure that there’s any debate on that top by itself…

The skirt is what I want to focus on, and boy does this skirt look luxurious.  I mean, it looks warm, it drapes well, and it’s got a nice pattern.

So what do you think of this skirt?  It’s a maxi-skirt, so I think that the length is great.

There’s a saying that goes that a guy can’t pull off a women’s look, but a girl looks cute in a guy’s clothes.  I guess that’s part of the trend of “boyfriend pants” and other cross-overs.  Truth be told, I think it’s kinda neat when my wife wears one of my shirts!

In any case, this Sweater has a styling and pattern that reminds one of the chunky sweaters that some men wear, though I’m not sure I’ve seen that many men wear v-necks—the only complaint I have with this one.

In fact, this sweater looks so warm and comfortable right now that I wish I had it!

You’ll need a tank or cami under this one to make it modest, though.

The one thing that’s great about tunics is that they really cover.  I mean, there’s no question here that nothing will be exposed when the lady bends over to pick something up.

This particular Tunic and Cami looks extremely comfortable, and it comes in this color and black.  The sleeves give a feminine look—they’re quite flowy but do show the arms through the translucent material.

The neckline is decent, though it might be a tad low on some people.

Soft Surroundings has some really great clothes that it seems like it would feel great to wear.  This dress is no exception.

The Delphine Dress also comes in black, and it meets our modest criteria—it’s long, it has wide straps and it does not come down too far in the front.  It could even be paired with an under layer (maybe a turtleneck?) to be a tad warmer!

Do you like the crinkled type look?  What type of environment could you see yourself wearing this type of dress?

I don’t think it’s a casual dress, but is it a formal?

Of the times that are available from Union28, this is as close to the line that they get as far as modesty. 

The message, great as always.  The location of that message—yeah, that might be a problem because of the other things…

The straps are on the border of being too small, as well as the depth of the shirt.

However, I can definitely see this as something that’s worn in the home in the summer or something like that.

So, it’s not enough for me to say not to buy this shirt, but I would not wear this in public!

A different take on the whole “He loves me, he loves me not” is this shirt from Union28.

"He loves me, he loves me a lot, he loves me…"  Any way the petals fall, you’re a blessed woman!  This modest "my husband rocks" daisy v-neck will brighten any day!

This shirt is modest, but it’s also a v-neck.  So, depending on the body type you might want to be careful.

The wording is in a decent location, the only thing that drew my eye was the location of the highest flower—but it’s not a big deal.

White?  Daisies might grow in the rain, but not this shirt!

Union28 has a way with making husbands and wives feel special—if your spouse will wear the shirt!

In this case, this woman’s proclaiming that she loves her husband like she did when she married him—or that she’d marry him all over again…

The t-shirt covers everything it should, it’s opaque.  It’s a nice color, and the text is fine.

These shirts would work really well as wedding presents, anniversary presents, or for a spouse to surprise the other some day!

I mean, how can you go wrong with both building your marriage and wearing something modest!?

This shirt is interesting, in that it comes in a different style than the shirts that we’ve already reviewed.  This shirt, which proclaims that your husband is your best friend, comes in an opaque and a sheer version.

For this photo, the model is actually wearing a beige camisole (which you can probably see better clicking through the site) so that nothing shows through.

I’m sure that this is a pretty cool style, and I could definitely see an angle where this could be interesting at home, but what do you think about shirts you can see partially through?

As far as the text, it’s perfectly fine to me, though I wonder why there are lips on there, since no guy I know wears lipstick.

Maybe I’ll have to pick up one of these for my wife!

If you’re looking for marriage related t-shirts, Union28 is the place to go.  They have all different kinds of shirts that proclaim your love or admiration for your husband or wife.

Today we’re looking at the I Love My Husband Winged Tee, which features a red shirt with an ornate design on the front.  The shirt itself is modest, in that it seems to be a decent length (regular t-shirt length?), and covers everything without be translucent or too tight.

As for the graphic, it’s not bad in its location, and I find my eyes actually drawn to the neckline wondering if the image is too high, rather than anywhere else.

The text has a psychological effect, as well, of telling men that this gal loves her husband.  Which is always a good thing.

From what I can tell, the Junior cut differs in how long the sleeves are and may be a bit more fitted.  The neck hole looks a bit smaller, but it’s hard to tell.

In both cases, the shirt has a really positive message when it comes to marriage, though I think the Ladies’ cut may be a bit more modest.

Union 28 has a neat message—not only does it promote modest clothing, but it’s primary mission is to celebrate one’s spouse (or in the case of children, one’s parents) with style.

So, what you’ll find at this site is a lot of tees, pants, and even (gasp!) underwear with the idea of supporting one’s husband and wife visibly.  There are also links for marriage tips that you can read up on to help you marriage!

In the case of this shirt, it might be a little tight on top (look at the left of the shirt on the model’s right arm to see what I’m seeing), but I have no problem with this shirt.  The text isn’t totally on the bust, and like a wedding ring, it’s promoting a current relationship and testifying to how good that is.  That does carry some weight when it comes to the battle of the mind that men go through.

Married ladies, would you wear a shirt that proclaims that “My Husband Rocks”?

Here’s an interesting dress.  Interesting to me because it looks much like a top and a skirt, but it’s actually one piece.

What’s also fascinating about this dress is that the length is adjustable—it can either be ankle length or it can be shorter.

The neckline’s fine, the sleeves are short, so there’s no problems here.

Also, I noted from the site that it’s made of cotton, so it’s perfect for the fall’s cool, and might even help keep you warm inside on a cool winter’s day.

A Closet Classic. This is the favorite silhouette for many modest women. It’s flattering and super comfy. The cotton fabric is breathable and the unique color is stunning- Ink Blue.

From the picture, though there’s not a model it looks like it’s past the knee, maybe T-length.  The top buttons up—which could pose some maintenance issues, but it looks fine and modest.

This is probably one of the most expensive dresses at The Virtuous Closet, but that comes with a reason.  This dress is Jeweled!

That’s right, the heavy satiny fabric (perfect for formal attire) comes with jewels made right into it—and that’s where my attention goes first.

Yes, the satin does make it a bit shiny, and we’ve talked about it before.  The length is fine, the neckline and sleeves are fine, but what about the placement of those jewels?  Do you think it presents a problem?

My personal opinion is that formal wear can be a bit different because of context.  In that case, this probably is fine—but I know that some of you might have a different perspective!
