What a pretty color on a pretty dress!

There’s not much you can say about the length of this dress—it goes down to the floor and I can’t even see her feet!  Also, the dress isn’t translucent, as you can see with the backlighting.

The top has a high neckline and though it goes a bit toward the shoulders, it seems fine except—this kind of fabric seems to be quite clingy.

The site states:

This dress FITS GENEROUSLY (about one size larger than our ‘Fits True to Size’ dresses).

And I think a lot of that is because of the length and the stretchy fabric on top.  That fabric is both stretchy and clingy, showing off the model’s full form.

Other than that, it looks like it could use a belt or something to better define the mid section, but I could definitely see picking up one of these for my wife!

Everything looks better with black.  I was once told that this was because black made facial features “pop”.  This is why the “little black dress” category exists, and you can see why with this model.

This model also gives us another illustration.  In multiple reviews we’ve discussed where a hemline would be when a person sat down.  If you click this image through to the actual item and look through the alternate images, you’ll see that this hemline falls a little above the knee.  Here, as this woman sits, you can see that a few inches above her knee and of her thigh are shown—and the way that she has to sit to keep some semblance of modesty.

When you wear a skirt that ends above the knee, or doesn’t go somewhat down the calf, you have to remember to sit “lady-like” and I’m sure you’ll find yourself tugging at the skirt wishing it would go down further.

Other than that, no complaints with this dress.  There’s a slight V-neck that I don’t think would be an issue for anyone.

This fiery red dress is sure to get you attention—if that’s what you’re looking for.

This is first dress that we’ve looked at from Shabby Apple that I’m not sure you’ll want to purchase—unless you’re looking for something to wear around the home.

The neckline of this dress seems to come down to show cleavage, and has a V-like pattern.  The way the clothing comes across the bust definitely draws attention there.

The skirt length is decent, this time covering the knee of the model, and the waist is an interesting gathering pattern.

Is there some layer or inset I’m missing on the top, or is this really low cut?

This 100% cotton dress has some interesting features.

The neckline is the first thing that caught my eye, for it seems to come out and away from the top, which doesn’t seem to be an issue because the neckline is high.

There is a belt that right below the bust that servers to accentuate the waistline as well as give definition to the top of the dress.

The hemline falls just above the knee on this model—which the retailer notes that if this is too short for you, they will ship you a new one for free, which is quite cool.

Red is a very popular color, though this is a very appealing shade of red—not like candy apple red.

The length is decent, with the skirt portion of the dress falling just above the knee of this model.  I’d make sure that the size was right, because even at this length this skirt would tend to need maintenance to stay modest when moving around.

The neckline is fine, a slight V, so those that do not like V-necks may shy away from this, though the V is not too pronounced.

The site says that this dress “FITS GENEROUSLY”, and it looks comfortable from the photo—what do you think?

Shabby Apple started much the same way that many modest retailers started.  The owners, Emily and CK, were frustrated with the fact that there was a lack of stylish dresses that also provided coverage to keep a lady comfortable.

After doing a bit of research they found that department stores weren’t stocking such things because designers weren’t making such things, so they decided to do something about it—they created their own product line.

Shabby Apple offers dresses, shoes and bags, jewelry and accessories as well as style tools.

If you want to read more from and about them, you can follow them at their blog.  Like most of the more fashion oriented modest retailers you’ll find that you will occasionally have images of fashion models modeling an idea that they want to borrow—meaning that they occasionally have immodest photos of models on them.

Today we want to help the expectant Mother find just the right modest formal!  Check out this lovely teal dress from Shabby Apple called “The Odyssey!”   The odyssey is made with a poly/rayon/spandex jersey fabric blend.  The sleeves flair to give your arms plenty of room to move.

The dress has a long tie right under the bust line that can be tied either in the front or the back! I like how the length of the dress hangs just below the knee!  The dress is versatile so you can play it up with some nice jewelry,  and heels for a formal event, but instead of shoving it in your closet once the event is over you can wear it again with some flats for a casual look!

This is such a cute, fun dress! It is a little more expensive than some of the others, but does come with an exchange option if you purchase the wrong size.

I was a little concerned that it was a bit short, but the description says it does hit the knee.
