Having watched football for the first time in a while the other night as Tim Tebow and the Broncos lost to Tom Brady and the Patriots, I can say I didn’t even notice the pants that the players were wearing.  Did you?

And that is the problem.  We can use other words to describe lust, but changing the language does nothing but put “lipstick on a pig.”

At the same time, Tiffany thought that it would be a good idea to make some cash by using some photos of her own to make a calendar—who wouldn’t want to look at pictures of her?!

Unfortunately—or fortunately depending on how you look at it—she didn’t know how to print it out well—which set up this comic.

Gunther, the computer geek, was more interested in the production qualities than the photos.  If only more guys were like this!

In the case of this comic, we see that the less Janis wore, the better Arlo could remember where she wore it.

Why?  Because specific items carry meaning.  It could be that some special event happened when they were at Perdido Key or the Peabody, but it’s also very possible that this guy loved seeing his wife in next to nothing on the beach, and in the little black dress going out.

Though this is a comic, it’s also true in real life.  The image of a pretty girl that a guy saw can stay with them much longer.  That is also the real threat posed by pornography—that what one has seen one cannot un-see, and that those images take a long time to fade from memory because they’re associated with a physical and/or emotional reaction.

Only this whole plan meets a snag when there’s not enough money for everyone to make the trip, and Delta is the one that draws the ballot not to be able to go.  So what do the two friends do?  They tap into the vanity of the cheerleader, Tiffany, to get her to be a part of a fundraiser to raise the money for the last ticket, and they decide that they can attract the most attention by having her dunked in a dunking booth.

Of course Tiffany, believing that she has the perfect body, decides that the appropriate attire for this dunking is a bikini—which sets up this interaction:

The last panel makes the point about modesty.  Tiffany (Miss Farrell) believes that the attention she is getting from the boys is something that she should want.  But her wise teachers knows better—they aren’t truly friends, they just want to look at something that they’re not entitled to look at.  They want to use her, not be her friend.

The point of this comic?  Clothing sends a message.  What you wear says something to those that see you.  In the case of Lila, her friend is saying (in a sarcastic fashion) that her clothing says that she’s desperate.
