Carnival of Modesty

Welcome to the Carnival of Modesty for March 19th 2011:

  • Be a Rebel « Jaclyn Rae’s Blog – You may not know this, but I’ve always been a rebel. I was a rebel when I didn’t own a 2 piece bathing suit in high school. I was a rebel when I didn’t kiss boys on the first, second, or third date. I was a rebel when I committed to remain abstinent until marriage. Most of my peers will not agree with this statement, but I’m going to claim it anyway:
  • Modesty: An Issue Of The Heart (via The Stay At Home Missionary) | Modesty: The Forgotten Virtue – Now, I realize that we have many different standards regarding modesty. But modesty is so much more than choosing to wear a one-piece swimsuit or a long skirt. Modesty is an issue of the heart. I had to get real with the Lord, desiring to serve him in every area of my life! I learned that my outward appearance should merely be a reflection of what Christ is doing on the inside… Do I still try to look pretty for my husband, have fun with putting my wardrobe together, and take care of my physical body? Of course; but my standards have changed.
  • Modesty: The Attitude of the Modest Woman (pt. 2) by C. J. Mahaney | Modesty: The Forgotten Virtue – Any biblical discussion of modesty begins by addressing the heart, not the hemline. We must start with the attitude of the modest woman.

I'm a 35 year old guy married to the most beautiful woman in the world (VirtuousBlonde) for 10 years, and has 5 mostly adorable children-- depending on whether they've had a nap, of course. I'm a software developer by trade, though I like to write on various topics. I got my start in blogging at MInTheGap in 2004 writing about culture, politics and got started talking about modesty on this site just 3 years ago.
