The Chambray Shirt meets Denim!

JCPenny is one of my favorite stores to shop at because of their assortment of styles. Many of them are quite modest, too. This particular piece (she said Chambray Shirt) incorporates a contemporary twist on an old classic and it fits most standards of modesty. It has nice pocket detailing, princess seams for shaping, and cute button cuffs. The denim gives this shirt a more casual feel, but the tailoring adds a polished touch.
Quick Fact: Chambray shirts are actually a casual styling of button down work shirts that were popular in the 1980′s and 90′s.
Although denim on denim is back in style (it was an 80′s trend) this Fall, this denim shirt would go great with a khaki skirt and some cute flats! Since this is a button-down, I would pair it with a cami underneath just in case one of those buttons come undone!

Nope, I definitely wouldn’t be brave enough. :D I’m not at all a fan of denim on denim! Paired with other pieces I do like denim, but too much in one outfit = not for me. I think this shirt would look pretty over a floral dress, with a white skirt, etc.
I’m not much of a denim on denim either. A jean jacket with a denim skirt and nice bright shirt looks good though. My friend wears that from time to time and she looks very nice. I’ve been looking for a jean jacket, but I haven’t found the right one yet.
I’ve seen people do that too and it can be okay.
I looked for a long time to find a denim jacket that I really liked, fit well, and was within my price range. I finally found a nice one at Goodwill. Yay! :) I hope you will soon find THE one for you!
I find a lot of my clothes at Goodwill too. Most of my skirts came from there or JCPenney or Kohl’s. I love the clearance racks at those stores.
I don’t know if I could pull this off. It’s cute on the model, but I guess you’d have to wear it with something other than denim, which is my usual fare ;)
I guess if one wore it with khakis, as pictured, it could work though.
