If full coverage is what you’re looking for in a swimsuit, you can’t go wrong with the Island Shirt from SplashGear.  This shirt covers everything, from the neck to the waist, including the arms.

I like this shirt of the two options because of the two-tone colored panels.  It looks pretty stylish!

From the site:

This shirt is to be worn over your own one-piece bathing suit or tankini.  This shirt may also be worn over more tight-fitting outfits, such as a wetsuit or a lycra skin suit (may need to purchase larger size).

I'm a 35 year old guy married to the most beautiful woman in the world (VirtuousBlonde) for 10 years, and has 4 mostly adorable children-- depending on whether they've had a nap, of course. I'm a software developer by trade, though I like to write on various topics. I got my start in blogging at MInTheGap in 2004 writing about culture, politics and got started talking about modesty on this site just 2 years ago.

The site says the rash guard is cut looser in the chest for modesty. Women’s shirt sizing is based on chest measurement, so I wonder how they distinguish being loosely cut from sizing up.

  2. Thank you for your query.

Rash guards in general are designed to fit the male torso and are very skin-tight. The Splashgear Island shirt has a looser fit in the chest region compared to the skin-tight fit of the regular rash guard. In fact, the Splashgear Island shirt is designed after the NeoSport Loose Fit rash guard. Therefore, the chest size of the Splashgear Island shirt is a looser cut than the regular skin-tight rash guards; but is more akin to women’s regular dress shirt sizing.

Please note that the Island shirt has a tapered waist (ie, the waist is smaller than chest size) to prevent riding up in the water.

I like the two-tone idea. One color would be boring to me. Don’t like the hood either.
