I'm a 35 year old guy married to the most beautiful woman in the world (VirtuousBlonde) for 10 years, and has 4 mostly adorable children-- depending on whether they've had a nap, of course. I'm a software developer by trade, though I like to write on various topics. I got my start in blogging at MInTheGap in 2004 writing about culture, politics and got started talking about modesty on this site just 2 years ago.

Haha, awesome, I’m glad you included a guy! This dude looks okay, at least standing still, but yes, some men definitely need to be aware when they’re in sweats or other lightweight pants.

  2. Anna says:

When I see biking shorts or sweats on men, I don’t think “immodest” as much as I think, “Eew!” I don’t see a lot of guys in either of those.

  3. Karen says:

I’m with the others – sweats are like PJs – comfy for lounging around the house, but please don’t step out the door in them; man or woman!

  4. Anna09 says:

I must be totally clueless, but I’ve never had a problem with guys in sweats. Bike shorts/athletic outfits that are form-fitting = ewww, but I’ve never noticed anything with sweats. ???

  5. ErinL says:

Hmm, I’m with Anna09 on this one. They can look sloppy, but unless they are skin-tight I’ve not noticed them being immodest.

  6. Sydney says:

I’m also with Anna09…I personally don’t have a problem with guys in sweats, bike shorts or other similar things. I don’t know that I say ‘ewww’ exactly, but I just don’t pay it much attention. I guess I’m weird…sorry. :?

  7. Mardi says:

I agree, sometimes it can be a problem.

  8. Mommajo says:

Personally never thought of sweats as being immodest… They are definitely a very casual look and not appropriate for a lot of occasions but unless they are skin tight I’m not sure where this fits in with a modesty issue… I think most people that have an issue with them it’s more of a fashion issue.

I never thought of them as being immodest either. Mostly just sloppy.
