Tights Are Not Pants

I found an interesting site the other day, and I wonder if you agree with their manifesto:

webpage

I'm a 35 year old guy married to the most beautiful woman in the world (VirtuousBlonde) for 10 years, and has 4 mostly adorable children-- depending on whether they've had a nap, of course. I'm a software developer by trade, though I like to write on various topics. I got my start in blogging at MInTheGap in 2004 writing about culture, politics and got started talking about modesty on this site just 2 years ago.

I like that. I once saw someone who wore short-shorts with TIGHT white leggings under them, and I thought, “She thinks that’s helping.” Maybe it was–a VERY LITTLE BIT. There are times for leggings, and times for tights. But I do agree wholeheartedly–they aren’t pants.

I completely agree! Tights are meant to keep you warm worn under a dress or skirt in winter. They are NOT the equivalent of a pair of jeans, however “cute”(aka distracting and a stumbling block to our brothers in Christ!) they make you feel!

    Hilarious!
So many times modesty talk is serious and thought provoking… as it should be.
But it is so nice to laugh out loud at something for a change. Thanks for sharing.

    Yes!
Oh my goodness, tights as pants drive me CRAZY. I do not want to see that, it looks like long underwear.
Tights designed to keep you warm, not as a piece of clothing by itself. I always thing – ‘Opps, they got distracted half way through getting dressed and forgot to finish’. Even without the modesty issues it just looks gross.

Yes, indeed… I don’t like the fashion of wearing tights as pants, or even under a mini skirt. It’s not terribly flattering on most people, and certainly not modest. All the same, that was a pretty amusing excerpt! Especially the part about “historically accetable acts of pantlessness” :)

That’s the whole website, pretty much, actually.

Hey M – if I remember right, I posted a link to that a while back on this blog. Great minds think alike ;)

Well that’s sure the truth!!! It’s kinda disturbing to see someone wearing tights for pants. It’s like “Where’s the rest of your clothing? Did you forget it?” This is a great article! (June NCA)

  8. OMG I’m laughing at how funny this post is. I think the use of font is what really makes it great. I’d like to see someone holding up a giant sign with this printed on it and see what tight-wearing people do when they approach it.
