MInTheGap: This is an interesting dress. There’s a big bow in the center front– so I can’t tell if it opens. The straps are wider than spaghetti, but still show a lot of shoulder. I can understand wearing it if you want to get a tan. That being said, the skirt portion looks a tad short– since she’s laying forward I’m assuming it would move up when she stood up. Definitely seems like it would be an impractical dress.

Foy: Provided that the front is covered with the bow, I think it looks good from the waist up. But, what I said in the previous Quick Review regarding shorts comes into play with this skirt: they shrink when standing.

It’s been my experience that a skirt will actually get shorter when you’re sitting… so I would expect this dress to hit her a couple inches further down when she stands up. When you say skirts “shrink when standing,” do you mean they end higher up the leg, or just that they seem shorter because you can see more leg or something?

I was going to mention this too, Lola. I think you’re right. If you think of it from a perspective of physics, there is more “surface area” to cover at the back of the skirt/dress when a woman sits down than there was when she was standing up. This would make the whole skirt seem shorter while sitting down– because it would have the effect of pulling the whole thing up/back. I believe this is the same effect with shorts.

Hence why it’s important to not just look at the mirror and say “these shorts are borderline.” You have to sit in them as well!

I think this dress would be one that leggings would go pretty well with. I don’t think leggings automatically cover everything–I see a lot of people who look like they do–but in this instance, the skirt is long enough that I think it would work.

I agree with Lola. The skirt would get longer when she stood up, not shorter. :) It would still be a little too short imo. Probably just above her knees.

Definitely needs some added length. Too short for my liking. The top does come up higher than some, but I don’t do sleeveless for myself.
