Is This Modest?
Erin: I really like this outfit! I would personally prefer a little bit looser jeans, but I really like the wrap sweater. Normally cropped sweaters seem immodest to me, because they draw so much attention to the chest. However, because this one falls closer to high waist and it’s not tight, it still looks modest!
Foy: Loose or not, I still think cropped sweaters are immodest. And since she is wearing the sweater, my guess is that she doesn’t have an undershirt on, making the white shirt a bit immodest side due to its usual see-through qualities.
Your Turn…

It’s immodest because she’s covered up, okay…
I’m with you on this one– I believe that the sheer bulk of this top makes this one modest. The ones that essentially outline the bust are a bit of a distraction.
I like this outfit. I think it’s modest and relaxed! She doesn’t look like she’s trying to be alluring with her pose either…just having fun.
Kristins last blog post..8 Things
This is hilarious because the goal of Modbe is to be modest. I wear the cap-sleeve shirts on their own, but they’re really meant to go under other clothes for more coverage. I’d suggest you review their swimsuits, but the bare Mormon skin would probably cause impure thoughts.
I know next month we’re going to take a look at different swimwear– especially modest swimwear– so thanks for the lead.
I’ll be looking forward to it! One thing, if you’re going to continue reviewing their clothes, is that the official web site of Modbe is modbeclothing.com. The site you’ve linked to, modbecatalog.com, is an individual consultant/salesperson’s site.
Yea, this is totally fine by me.
Of course this is modest. There isn’t anything being revealed that shouldn’t be. Wow Foy, lighten up!
People are allowed to have their opinions. That’s what these QR,s are about. You don’t have to be sarcastic of others views.
You’re right, anne. The trick is to make sure that we critique the outfit and express our opinion so that we can all learn from our different perspectives.
I would consider this modest but not flattering or attractive IMO!!!
What makes this discussion unique is that each of us comes from a different background. Virtually all of you are female, which puts you in a different position than I when judging the modesty of other females. Not only am I a guy, but I’m also the only ( to my knowledge) single guy here, who is also trying to “wait for marriage”. The devil knows this, and is doing everything in his power to tempt me, making me more susceptible to these things than I’m guessing all of you. Now, I know that MInTheGap is also a guy, but he’s married – and that changes things *a lot*.
The reason I post/write here is to give you girls feedback as to what works and what doesn’t – what does tempt us and what doesn’t tempt us – so that you won’t have to go through the awkward process of walking up to your male friends and going “Is this skirt too short? Are thinking of me differently because of it?”
I know that I’m horrible when it comes to judging the modesty of other guys – because I am a guy, things that would easily tempt a girl don’t really tempt me at all. Is this the same way with gals? I’m not sure, but I’m guessing it is to some degree.
So yes, I realize my opinions are a lot different than many of you. But please keep in mind where my mind is – what situation (as a single guy) I’m in. And know that many of the other single guy’s you run into contact with may have the same difficulties as I do – or worse.
Thanks Foy, for posting this. That’s why I don’t argue with my Dad when he tells me a certain outfit just “doesn’t cut the mustard.” Because he’s a guy, and I’m not! He knows how guys think and I “don’t.”
