Yes, we are all in this together and that is a strongly encouraging thing to know. :)

Amen! Thank you for this post, [name redacted]. I couldn’t agree more, that we need to stand up and fight this battle together!

Intrigued by your post and can’t agree more. It seems like a lot of people go shopping with the wrong mindset. They are excited to discover something ‘cute’ etc. If something is being sold en mass in a store and is popular, the bottom line is that there is a reason that is a hot item. The fashion industry is run largely by perverts and people addicted to and driven by sex. So, of course they have something in mind when they ‘create’ a fashion. How can we follow blindly like dumb sheep wearing whatever they throw our way without a thought to what the intent of the designer was with that piece? Proverbs says a prudent person forsees the evil and hides himself but the simple pass on and are punished. Shouldn’t we go shopping with a critical eye? Hmmm, I see a boat load of these kinds of shirts. That means they are somewhat popular, and the fashion industry is trying really hard to push them on me. So WHY is it popular? WHAT does it showcase and why? HOW will this affect my attitude – as we all know, clothes do affect our attitude- and WILL this affect men in a sensual way? Chances are, that is exactly what it was designed by a clever, knowledgeable person to do. I always remember that while another woman / girl could say it is cute and sincerely and ignorantly not think it to be too whatever, a man (like my brother or husband or dad) will usually tell it like it is – after all, they were made to be visually stimulated and know what they are seeing. Sorry for such a looooooooong comment. Just excited to see this topic explored! I’d like to follow, how do I do it through email?

Wow…you are so right Rebekah! If only more people would take the time to slow down and ask themselves those questions before buying!

This article is gone. Without reading it though, I’d say that the greatest purpose for modesty is to glorify God. We should be doing it to honor Him.
