My Sweater Shrank In The Wash

When I try to put on some clothing that doesn’t fit, I take it back off and put it aside.  When women put on clothing that they like that doesn’t fit, they’ll lay down on the bed, use stretching tools, and see whatever way they can squeeze in.

One would think that women really like to torture themselves—in times past it was corsets, today it’s jeans.

In any case, tight clothing can leave nothing to the imagination:

While this is great for her husband, Arlo, Janis should consider a different sweater when she goes to leave the house.

I'm a 35 year old guy married to the most beautiful woman in the world (VirtuousBlonde) for 10 years, and has 4 mostly adorable children-- depending on whether they've had a nap, of course. I'm a software developer by trade, though I like to write on various topics. I got my start in blogging at MInTheGap in 2004 writing about culture, politics and got started talking about modesty on this site just 2 years ago.

Speaking of comics, did you read yesterday’s Zits? I thought it was pretty appropriate for talking about “the guy mindset”. http://www.arcamax.com/zits/s-504551-245948

    Great comic.
I wouldn’t be so hard on Janis.

For the last year I just tried to cut back on milk and fats and that seemed to improve things.

I put my sweater in the wash and it shrank too. :( The bummer thing is that it still fit just fine everywhere except the length! I never got to wear it again. *sigh*

I’ve actually worn stays or corsets before and it’s actually very good for your posture and not at all uncomfortable (aside from being hot anyway). The only problem is when you wear one that’s too small and try to lace it up too tight. That’s what caused trouble for women in the 1900s.

Maybe you could wear it like a shrug, with a shirt under it? *shrugs* I’m not sure how that would look.

Yes. Corsets are not always torturous. I guess that’s how they often wore them back then, though.

This is a funny one. :) I have yet to shrink a sweater in the drier. I hope I don’t. I think it would be fun to wear corsets again.
