*No, this isn’t a hint. :-) I’m not pregnant, unfortunately. However when I was, I noticed a huge lack of cute and modest maternity clothes! So I wanted to highlight one or two cute things…

(I am specifically focusing on layering pieces and long skirts here, since the knee-length skirts, regular blouses and jeans/pants are readily DEB maternity tankavailable at places SC maternity like Motherhood Maternity…)

Shade Clothing has some beautiful cap-sleeved t-shirts for maternity wear, and they have a nice high neckline as well as a long    length…not a common combination, especially for maternity clothing!

DownEast Basics also has roughly the same selection as Shade, with the addition of high-necked tank tops.  They are $9.99 each, which I think is Lilo velour skirta good deal for maternity clothing.

NCA maternity skirt I also found these adorable long skirts. The black velour one is from Lilo Maternity and is a bit more expensive that I like; but if you need  something like this, and thrift stores aren’t working, sometimes you have to “bite the bullet”.  New Creation Apparel carries the long denim ones,  and love the fact that they come in three lengths (petite, regular and tall) as well as having a stretchy panel and an adjustable waist (whoever came up with that idea for maternity clothing is brilliant, and I thank them profusely).

A wife to my handsome man and mama to my little man. I spend my days fixing meals and cuddling. I live in the cold, cold north, where there are four seasons: almost snow, lots of snow, more snow, and the two days of summer. I love the subject of modesty, but am dissapointed that there seems to be so little of it in today's clothing. Maybe this will be my very small way of helping to bring it back.

Thanks for sharing this! I’ve had a hard time even finding maternity clothes, much less cute ones, at places like Wal-Mart. Because tunic-style wraparound shirts are popular this season, fashion designers think those can double as maternitywear. They’re not very correct on that – tummy wants to peek out still.

Thanks for posting this! Modest maternity wear is definitely hard to find; for me, I find the neckline is often the problem for me. I look forward to exploring your links!

Sometimes people think pregnant women do not deserve to look fancy. That’s not OK with me. Yes, it last 9 months but it’s the period of your life when you feel the joy of your baby, this life that is being made. You also want to look as pretty as you are and have always been. Thanks for the post.

It’s A Miracle Maternity is a great place to find stylish and modest maternity styles. They have everything from stretchy tees with high necklines, long sleeves, and long hems to eveningwear and separates. I just bought a dress from their site…everything is on sale right now. The website is http://www.itsamiraclematernity.com

    Good luck!

I noticed such a lack of modest maternity skirts, that I have started my own website making and selling maternity skirts. I also sell used maternity clothes! I’m not sure why it is so hard to find a long maternity skirt, but it is difficult these days! My website is: http://www.themodestmaternityshop.com Thanks!

This is so nice to know! I’m not pregnant (heck, I don’t even have a man!), but I’ve always wondered how I’ll dress when I AM. I’ve seen too much of the too-much-information maternity wear, and way too much of the oh-look-a-potato-sack type as well. Thanks for posting some hope for me! :P

I’ve not pregnant, but I plan to be someday. It’s great to know that I’ll be able to find the clothes that I need! And nice to pass things on to friends who can use it now. :)

These are very cute maternity clothes. There are a lot of people I know that need to wear modest maternity clothes. That hearthandaltar site up there sounds good too.
