Is This Modest?

Erin: I really like the feminine details of this outfit, but the skirt is so short I’m going “immodest”.

MInTheGap: The dress has good coverage up top, but it is a good couple inches above the knee. I think that she’d find this dress to be high maintenance. I’m not going all the way immodest, but she should look for something a little longer.

A wife to my handsome man and mama to my little man. I spend my days fixing meals and cuddling. I live in the cold, cold north, where there are four seasons: almost snow, lots of snow, more snow, and the two days of summer. I love the subject of modesty, but am dissapointed that there seems to be so little of it in today's clothing. Maybe this will be my very small way of helping to bring it back.

Well, I’m sure it does come off, but couldn’t you say that about most clothing items?

If that shirt came off, it’d be immodest.

Yes, :P , but the coat looks more like an accessory- something you might throw on if its cold, take off if its warm.

I definitely give this an immodest rating. Add some wide leg slacks in the same neutral colors underneath it though, and you have a REALLY cute outfit! I love the dress I’d just treat it as a tunic length shirt…

I think it’s borderline rather than immodest. This is because it appears to be made of soft, flowy material. I have a few skirts like this that actually are longer when sitting than standing(trust me on this!) so it probably doesn’t look as scandalous as one might think. Straight skirts made of stiffer fabric tend to ride up and give more of a view when sitting.

This is super duper cute, but I agree that the dress needs to be longer. Other than that, I’d love to try to put something like this together for myself! I may even have a top I could use…

Definitely too short. The top is quite cute, though it seems a tad tight, perhaps. It might also look better with a contrasting color somewhere.
