It's a little ribbon that attaches to the inside of your shirt with a safety pin on one end and the other end goes under the strap and snaps onto the first end. Voila! I've used them on many occasions when I had to wear a formal. (I swear, dress designers must all be male - the bodices never work well with the female figure! Any bodice that covers enough also prevents me from raising my arms.) I also agree with a lot of the answers on that Yahoo! link you provided - if your bra is giving you trouble, you're wearing the wrong size. It's so worth it to spend a little extra money and go to a high-end boutique to get one that does its job. (I believe the whole point of a bra is modesty.
